2006 Zombo Master Plan! OK. There just doesnt seem to be
any shortage of zesty new things to tackle as we move up
to Portland, Oregon to settle down for awhile...Are you
ready? Good, here goes a few things I plan on doing... I
have always wanted to do a Twist Party Band and now is the
time for FATTY BACKGAMMONS TWIST PARTY BAND.
I plan on manning the tenor sax and vocals (maybe some guitar)
and Jules will be swinging the bass and doing some singing.
(Wotta Gal!). Now this band will not leave well enough alone..
We plan on writing some nutty new twist songs, playing a
few twist classics, and also dismantling the music of real
artists like Hank Williams, Beck, Prez Prado and many others
and warping their songs into a twist-a-rama feast. How do
twisting go-go nuns sound? Yep, we plan on getting dancers
to be known as the Sister Twisters in on the act.
I also plan on utilizing several of
my laptop computers (Mac, of course) for another fab idea
that I have been itching to do. Live Dub Reggae/60s Rock
n blues samples with a electro-lounge backdrop. Jules and
I will add random live instruments into our mix of digital
club dubs. The tentative name will be The ZomboWorld.
Samples of groovy 50/60's riffs with cool vintage spoken
word records and exotica beats will be layered then laced
in with practically anything that we can think of. A groovy
kind of hypnosis of sorts.
And most likely, a retro rock, project
as well , This new one, "THE Astrolauts"!
I have a good feeling that Portland will
take to my odd style of DJing and event planning. Starting
up another Bowling Alley with live music and nutty DJ nights
like I did in Pittsburgh would be a gasser...I would also
like to give the comedy circuit another try, but this time,
performing my crazed radio Dj show live in front of an audience.
I also will be opening a second screen
printing company. This one will naturally be in Portland.
It will be focusing on the local area with shirts, hats,
bumper sticker, and posters as well as servicing my upcoming
Ebay store. The shop in Ohio will still tend to my novelty
Not too bad for starters, but as always,
I always remain open minded to any thing that may cross
my path...stay tuned!
